The statistics were generated using Microsoft SSMS and SQL using my data extracted from SWLog. (Thanks Robert Sillett).

These data comprise my NDB (Non-Directional Beacon) DX logs from about 1990 until now. These LF (low frequency beacons) have largely been decommissioned in North America in favor of (primarily) GPS. I would estimate only 10% remain active vs the number in 1990. Due to the enormous increase in local noise levels, urban DX’ing of NDBs became largely infeasible since about 2010 in any case. That said, the rise of remotely accessible web based receivers in quiet locations means that the activity is not dead. Rather it has evolved and presents different challenges.
